Baby Update: 23 weeks!

Holy moly! This time is going by faster than expected…

Our little Peanut is now the size of a Papaya! So she is about 8inches long and weighs around 1.2 pounds!

As you can see, I have {finally} started to show constantly now (yippie!) and my belly will only continue to get bigger over the next few months!

Gender: As you might have read in last week’s post, Baby Hill is a little girl. Have I already started buying cute little baby clothes for her arrival? Yes, yes I have.

As for her name, you will have to wait a little longer to find that out. But don’t worry, it is adorable and will suit the peanut perfectly! ❤

Food Cravings: Over the last few weeks I have developed much more of a sweet tooth. Anything chocolate is obviously going to be eaten.

I also have been enjoying bagels with strawberry cream cheese. So tasty.

Aversions: Luckily, this has not been much of a problem, although I do find myself getting grossed out by smells much more than usual. Doesn’t make me sick, just makes me go “bleh”.

Fun Facts: I have officially hit the point in my pregnancy where my back is aching enough or I am having to pee often enough that it hinders my sleep, and sometimes breathing is harder when laying down, but other than that things are going great! Perhaps baby is just preparing me for her big arrival.

IMG_3164Baby’s ultrasound went really. Baby looks healthy and is growing properly. It was amazing seeing all her little bones and movements. Her little hands were up by her face and she kept showing us her impressive yawning skills.

The photo to the left is the creepy, yet funny ultrasound picture we got that makes her look like an alien, but if you look, you can see her little open mouth and her eyes on the left hand side of the picture.

Creepy…but still cute.

Daddy got to feel the little one kick for the first time last week! I think she can tell the difference in her daddy’s big hands on my belly versus mine. Once she felt his hand and did a few kicks to show him she loves him. He has been able to feel her kicks a couple times now, it’s one of my favourite things.

She also thought it was funny to do a big kick when our dog was laying his head on my belly. He just looked at me, then at my belly like, “the heck was that?!” (Not even born yet and she has a sense of humour).

I did have some fun letting my summer school students know which sex the baby was. I brought it cupcakes that were pink. They were excited to know the sex AND of course, eat a yummy red velvet cupcake. 🙂

Can’t believe summer is flying by so quickly! Before we know it Peanut will be here!

23 weeks down, 17 weeks to go!
