Christmas surprise: Family edition

I flew home for Christmas without anyone knowing. Mainly to my family. Which was EPIC. That is the only word I can use to describe surprising them.

After trying to find my best friend for 20 minutes in Tampa airport (which it is not that big…two blondes trying to find each other…typical) We went to where my family was having dinner. Thank you to Richard for setting up dinner and bringing his girls along! I love them.

Since we beat my mom there, we realised my sister was working at Panera at that time, so we ran over to Panera with ninja-like skill and surprised her.

Now, my sister is not one to cry at things, but I got some tears. She was so shocked to see me home. I may have cried as well. Seeing her reaction was such a wonderful feeling.

She was about on break at that time, so she went with us to surprise my mom and little brother.

Now, my moms surprise was a bit different. Last week I created a video for her which ended in a sign that said “look towards the front doors”. So we sent her the video and when she came towards the front doors she saw my best friend with a video camera and my sister.

I was hiding behind the hostess stand and when her back was turned came up behind her.

Of course tears flowed. How could they not? My family was in utter shock to see me at home. The feeling of my mommy hugging me with tears rolling down her face would make anyone melt, but for me, it meant so much more.

You are always worried if people will really miss you… and in this case…I could really tell how much this Christmas surprise meant to them all.

It was the best money I have ever spent to fly home for 2 weeks to be with my amazing family over Christmas.

Now we are loving every moment we have had together and it will be truly cherished.

My family means so much to me, I am just glad that I could bring them something for Christmas that shows them just how much I love them and have missed them.

I want them to know that even though I am currently living in a different country, that I still think about them daily and wish I could be closer to support them and be there for them when they need me.

This Christmas will truly be something for us all to remember.

Merry Christmas.

I love you honey and this was by far the best Christmas gift EVER!!!!! I cannot believe that you pulled it off and that I not even once clued in that you were coming home – though posting the blog while at ‘supper with Rich” was a bit confusing to me 😉 I am sooooo happy that you are home for Christmas…..makes this time of year even more special. And please know that you are missed every minute of every day. I am so proud of the young woman you are becoming and all that you are accomplishing! And you even arranged one heck of a grand surprise without telling me!! 🙂
