Thought for the day: 50 day challenge

So one of my good friends from Florida and I have a challenge going on.

We are attempting to start the new year off right and get back into shape…like we once were in highschool when we were divers.

Our goal?

Lose 10 pounds in the next 50 days. (aka the first of March).

Now, to start this challenge off correctly we have been texting each other to keep one another accountable on what we eat…and if we work out.

So far, so good!

For me, eating healthy is not my issue. My issue is getting my butt out of bed and going to work out.

Yes, I have a gym membership…but ask me how much I use it…?


So, my goal is to go to the gym at least 3 days a week.

Along with that, I have joined a place to do Hot Yoga. Tried it for the first time today…LOVED IT!

So if I can do Hot Yoga twice weekly…and the gym three times…I think that will be a good goal.

Now….some of you may be reading this and thinking “You look fine, you don’t need to lose weight”… well I am telling you now.

Bite your tongue.

I am not losing weight because I think I am fat. I am shooting to lose 10lbs to get back into the shape I was in when I was at the peak of my diving career…before the injury.

Also, to add to my motivation: I am checking out a diving club on the other side of London on Sunday morning. If all goes well, I will be diving in their Masters programme (yes, I know that makes me seem old…)

Diving will help motivate me to get back in shape so maybe one day I can compete 🙂

Wouldn’t that be spiffy?

So, wish my friend and I luck. I am sure we can do this.

Let the 50 day count down begin!

  1. WOW, everything going on and now a weight loss and exercise program!! Jordan, remember to start slow and build with weights and exercise generally – the amount of weight or distance are much less important than consistency over time. Fats have 9 calories per gram, protein and carbs have 4 – 4.5. Make a life style change (NOT a diet) and its doable – and your 105 will actually not be a 104.5!! — good thing.
