Dear Republican Party,
Why are you so persistant on getting rid of federal student loans? Think about us students who have dreams to go to big name schools who’s prices WON’T go down such as NYU, Yale, Miami, or Vanderbilt. Are you going to punish us by making it impossible for us to go to good school’s that we worked hard to get in to? What about those of us who want to study abroad for higher education? Taking about student loans will NOT lower tuition costs. Can we be real for a second? Stop thinking about yourselves and think about the STUDENTS.
Sincerely,
A concerned student
The Republican party thinks getting rid of the Federal Student Loan system in the US is a good idea. Why do they think this? Because they are delusional. They claim that if they make it impossible for students to pay for higher education then universities will have to lower their tuition costs making is possible for students to go to school. Come on guys..what kind of rubbish is that?!
How does that make any sense to get rid of the complete system? I mean, I would understand limiting the amount of money one person can get…or making it more difficult for someone to get a loan, but getting rid of the entire thing is a little inane if you ask me.
Universities are not going to lower tuition costs. That would mean teachers would lose some of their salary. Poor teachers don’t get paid enough anyways…let alone cutting their pay more because some government officials want to rid themselves of federal student loans. I mean, I am glad they will still have private loan companies…however not everyone wants to go through a private loan company. Sometimes private loan companies are not the best solution to your idea of borrowing money from someone.
I think the real solution here is to make it a little more difficult for people to get federal student loans…but not as impossible as a private loan company makes it. Find a happy medium for the poor students who need help getting a higher education. Easier said than done I am sure…but it is just a suggest. Come on Republicans…get it together.
